1st Ring Road (Package 2)

Parsons Brinckerhoff, in association with Gulf Consult, were commissioned to undertake all necessary design work in order to complete the loop of the urban motorway around and through the city centre in the First Ring Road (Package 2) project.

This will make it very convenient for drivers to quickly to get to different points around the city. This second package of work has required the consultants’ team to undertake acceptable highway and infrastructure design in environmentally sensitive areas adjoining the historic Jahra Gate, the old Souk and the Dasman Palace, involving motorway in cut and also in tunnel. The Project started construction August 2015 and will be ready by early 2019.
