Gulf Consult in association with Cambridge Seven Associates, USA, Ove Arup and Partners, UK, and Mouchel, UK, were commissioned by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science for the Design and Construction Supervision of the Scientific Centre.

The Scientific Centre is located on the Arabian Gulf Street in the Salmiya district of Kuwait and is set within a one kilometer frontage to the Gulf.

The Scientific Centre includes:
  • The Gulf’s largest Aquarium
  • The Living Desert, presenting habitats of the desert and coastal edge
  • The Discovery Place, providing interactive learning experiences
  • An Imax Theatre with 240 seats
  • Dhow Harbour
  • Two sea front family restaurants
  • Museum Shop
Gulf Consult received an Award of Excellence for the Design and Construction Supervision of the Scientific Centre (2001) by the American Concrete Association (ACI).
